Relief Efforts

GCL is a worldwide leader in marine transportation and logistics. While providing a global service, GCL's core areas of concentration are the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian sub-continent. GCL has extensive experience in shipment of cargoes for humanitarian relief efforts, working closely with organizations such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). GCL's successful track record in performing under difficult circumstances and in areas with little support resources has earned it consistent high marks.
In November of 2001, USAID/WFP awarded the first shipment of food for the people of Afghanistan to GCL. The shipment was carried successfully from the US Gulf to Afghanistan. Subsequent to this, GCL has successfully carried several additional consignments of relief goods and other shipments for Afghanistan. GCL's experience in the area and expertise in handling all types of cargo: Project cargo, general cargo, vehicles, containers and bulk, allows them to provide through transport to any point in Afghanistan for any type of cargo.
